Gosh, it feels so good to kick off another week of writing with all of you. With that, I want to share a recent AHA moment. After Ashley wrote “I didn’t know how much I needed this” in the FB group, it made me realize something:
I had no plans to work on my own personal writing past the initial “example prompts” I wrote in January. Yet after watching all of you do your thang and seeing what a safe and loving place this is to let your words flyyy, it’s been giving me courage I didn’t know I needed to find. I had no idea how much I needed this either!!!
So, thank you so much for showing up here.
Prompt Crushers
We’re starting to dig deeper, and last week’s prompt, Story Sprouts, was no easy feat. Big love to those who’ve picked up the pen:
🎉 Ashley
🎉 Jamie
🎉 Christin
🎉 Heather
🎉 Hannah
🎉 AnaGloria
And to those of you who chose rest or grace, I also celebrate you.
This month’s incentive
If you do complete all four prompts this month, your name will be tossed into a hat for a signed copy of my book Mama Be Present OR Think Remarkable by Guy Kawasaki. Your choice!
Trying something out: Voxer
For the rest of this month, let’s give Voxer a try for our group communication. Keyword: try. If we don’t like it, we can switch back. But. I was part of a mastermind that tried this, and the voice texts were so great. It was such a nice way to connect. It’s also a great way to steer clear of distraction and social media tension. And. I think this will keep us accountable to sharing links to our writing instead of posting it as a post in the group, which therefore, will help us keep our writing easier to keep track of. More on that below!
So, if you don’t have it, get the app here. I’m on there as bstuev768.
And our group is called…wait for it…The DBP Society.
Our Next Speakeasy
Thanks to your votes in the FB group, our next call will be Saturday, March 1 from 10-11:30 MST. If you’re a paid member, you’ll receive a calendar invite with the link in the coming weeks. If you’re not a paid member, but wanna see what it’s all about, you can “drop in” to one call any time and give it a whirl. Just send me a note!
In-person Writing
Starting February 18 and continuing every third Tuesday of the month, I’ll be hosting writing workshops at Mint & Serif in Lakewood from 9:30-11:30 a.m.
The first half will include encouragement + writing (I’ll have a prompt or you can dig into your own topic/current DBP focus!) and the second half will be sharing + feedback. It’ll be REAL cozy. Six of us max.
It’ll be $50/time for DBP members and $70/time for non-members. (Discount code’s at the bottom of this post!) Coffee and snacks will be provided. And if you want to try virtual, we can give that a whirl, too!
OK. Enough biz.
