Monthly Writing Workshops
When women sit at a table together and write, something magical happens.
The last time we gathered at Mint & Serif for a writing workshop, I witnessed something incredible.
One woman read her poetry out loud for the very first time. Another — who told us she was convinced her stories were putting her husband to sleep 😂 — had us gripping the edges of our seats, hanging onto every word of a story she thought was too mundane to share. Turns out, we wanted more, more, more. We saw ourselves in her words.
Another woman, with tears in her eyes, opened up about the weight of judgment she had been feeling. But as she spoke, something shifted. She moved from heartache to self-worth, declaring that she would no longer shrink herself to make others more comfortable.
It was one of the most vulnerable, powerful gatherings I’ve ever been a part of.
And I want to do it again. And again. So…
Join me for writing + sharing workshops for women.
Whether you love to journal, dream of writing a memoir, are deep into a manuscript, or trying to find your voice, all levels of writers are welcome. And with six of us max, it’ll be cozy, real, and deeply connecting.
Where: Private room at Mint & Serif, 1385 Carr St., Lakewood
When: Third Tuesdays, 9:30-11:30 a.m.

🔥 Courage to Share: Move past the fear of judgment, rejection, or self-doubt and find confidence to own your story.
🤝 A Supportive Writing Community: Writing doesn’t have to be a solo journey. You’ll connect with like-minded women who uplift, encourage, and remind you that your words matter.

Recent takeaways
As part of the DBP membership, there are weekly writing prompts, regular sharing, and monthly “Speakeasies,” which are basically digital group hugs via Zoom.
Here is just some of what the ladies have been saying:
“I didn't think I was a writer, but turns out I am.”
“I thought this would feel uncomfortable, since I feel so rusty at writing in this way. But it actually feels like accessing a simpler time.”
“The first call was great. All the women are super awesome. I want to read everyone’s book. I also realized how little I have to be scared about within the group.”
“I actually want to write a book after all. I could never figure out the ‘putting it all together’ but have a pretty good idea what I want to do!”
“Best part of my week! This couldn’t have come at a better time.”
“I had no idea how much I needed this.”
She what happens when women get together and write, share, and encourage one another? The impossible becomes possible.
Okay.
So…
Have we met, yet? I’m Brit!
I’m a story coach, author, speaker, and event producer.
Although my 22-year career has had many destinations — music venues, magazines, newspapers, websites, startups, flower shops, and golf courses — it’s all been centered around one theme: connection. Whether it be through words, people, or moments:
I connect others to their own courage.
Not only have I empowered hundreds of businesses with their marketing, copywriting, and community building, but I’ve also mentored thousands on their writing and personal goals. I’ve spoken to mom groups on self-care, led productivity workshops at companies like lululemon and KPMG, and even presented at Visa on vulnerability.
Now, I want to help you find the courage to tell your story.
Whether you’re just starting or deep into your writing journey, my workshops are a space to explore, experiment, and finally say YES to your voice. You don’t have to be a “perfect” writer to have a story worth telling — what matters is that it’s yours.
I hope to see you at that table soon.
Or if you ever want to schedule a call or coffee, don’t hesitate to reach out!
